Partant du constat que le sport est un lieu important de reproduction de l’ordre social, cet article plaide en faveur d’une normalisation des perspectives critiques vis-à-vis du pouvoir dans l’histoire du sport (suisse). Les autrices présentent tout d’abord l’histoire de l’historiographie sportive suisse depuis les années 1980, en particulier les contraintes institutionnelles auxquelles elle est soumise. Elles mettent en évidence le potentiel considérable qu’une histoire du sport adoptant une perspective intersectionnelle recèle pour la science historique en général et pour la compréhension des rapports de pouvoir historiques et actuels.
English abstract
Based on the observation that sport is a signifi-cant arena for the reproduction of social order, this article argues for the normalisation of power-critical perspectives within (Swiss) sports history. The authors first provide an introduction to the history of Swiss sports historiography since the 1980s, focusing in particular on the institutional constraints to which it is subject. They highlight the great potential that a sports history informed by intersectional perspectives holds for historical scholarship in general and for understanding both historical and contemporary power relations.
